Google Notebook’s AI generated podcast explainer based on Piemontese, S & Sigona, N (2024) The legal and policy infrastructures of irregularity in the UK, I-CLAIM

Google Notebook AI is still in the beta phase, which makes it is free, experimental and not fully developed. A friend dropped me a message saying: ‘you must try this, I’m speechless’ (which considering we are talking about advanced language models is quite ironic). I was a bit sceptical, she replied: ‘just send me one of your reports’. I did. I sent her my new IMR article and this report. After less than ten minutes, I get two audio files back. As I have no idea what the implications are in terms of copyright for the IMR piece, I’m not publishing it yet. But, as this is an open access report (‘a pretty dense one, to be honest’, according to one of the AI interlocutors in the podcast), I am sharing it and would be really curious to hear your feedback. If you are interested to the debate on AI-generated podcast, here an interesting piece.
