Calais: Question of the day

Why on earth the UK government and in particular the Home Office, first under the stewardship of the now PM Theresa May and now of list-your-migrants Amber Rudd, waited until the very last minute to move a handful of refugee children from Calais to the UK? The Dubs pledge dates back to May 2016 and Dublin III Regulation has been there since 2013.

And where are the 3000 refugee children that David Cameron pledged to transfer directly from refugee camps in Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan? Not even one child has reached the UK through that legal and safe route yet. Again it was Theresa May’s department in charge for them. No doubt she is enjoying yet another increase in her popularity.
