For the recently published IRiS anthology that celebrates the first decade of the Institute for Research into Superdiversity I reworked the brief introduction I gave at our conference last September.

In the text I argue for the need of historicising superdiversity and understanding it as emerging in a particular geopolitical conjuncture, one that events in the last decade including Trump and Trumpism, Brexit, the Covid-19 pandemic and the wars in Syria and Ukraine have challenged in different ways.
